Protecting The Air That We Breathe!
- Jace GerockI contacted Sealed Solutions for a quote to complete a crawlspace encapsulation that I started. Matt answered the phone (no call service) and came to quote promptly. During the quoting process he informed me of the steps needed, and not needed, to encapsulate the crawlspace to my liking so that I could self perform and save money (which is something I mentioned I originally wanted to do). His quote was just a lesson on crawlspaces sealing to help me out. He was professional and knowledgeable and if I need crawlspace work in the future I will certainly reach out to him.read moreread lessDr. Donna GoldsteinWhen we purchased our home we didn’t realize that our crawl space was in pretty bad shape . We interviewed several companies and we thought that Mathew and Sealed Solutions had the most thorough and reasonable solution . He and his team did an excellent job and provided even more than he promised in a timely and professional manner . We’ve loved our new crawl spaces as have several plumbers and contractors who said they loved working there . Matt has helped us promptly with any small issues or questions , even several years after the installation, and we believe we have a solution that will serve us for the life of our home. Highly recommended and a great investment .read moreread lessdesdemona faisonMatt was awesome! We were anxious about what the whole process was gonna entail and frankly didn't know what a subsequent inspection would reveal after getting a quote from a contractor with our pest control provider. Thankfully, Matt eased our anxiety with his 1:1 personal explanation of what his inspection of our crawlspace revealed and the solutions. Very knowledgeable, professional and detailed in his service and work! And very competitively priced! We couldn't be more pleased and everyone that goes under the house, from HVAC, plumber, etc are so impressed with the work and the funky lights(Matt's special touch) put in that makes the area less creepy! Almost good enough for a man-cave! 😉 Definitely would recommend Sealed Solutions, LLC 100%!read moreread less
Sealed Vapor Barrier
6 mil/10 mil
Mold originates in the ground and a properly installed plastic vapor barrier inhibits mold transfer to your crawl sealing joists. Since 50% of your home’s air comes from your crawl … keeping mold suppressed is always a good investment.
We run lights throughout to make your crawl owner friendly.
Sealed Vapor Barrier
Sealing your crawl 100% from your crawl dirt floor significantly improves your homes air quality immediately. Running 10 mil plastic up the walls and attaching them to the crawl wall and foam sealing for a 100% seal. Sealing pillars, doors and all pipes and electrical coming from the exterior. Case studies in NC show keeping insulation in and sealing crawl adds 15.3% energy efficiency to your home.
We recommend removing the old insualtion if more that 2-3 years old for air and health factors.
Crawl Space Encapsulation
Vented vs Sealed Crawl
The ultimate solution to great air quality and energy efficiency. Removing your old moldy insulation then spraying mold inhibitor to sanitize your crawl then seal vents, pillars, doors and insulating your crawl walls with either spray foam or rigid board insulation.
Proper sealing and insulation of your crawlspace will:
- Save energy and money by keeping heat and air conditioning inside
- Minimize problems with condensation, wood rot, mold and mildew
- Keep your floors noticeably warmer
- Reduce air infiltration and drafts
- Provide waterproofing
- Seal entry paths against termites
- Control radon infiltration
In 2002, Sealed Solution did a case study studied on a group of 12 homes here in NC. We found that the 4 that had vented crawl spaces had Relative Humidity that tracked the humidity of the outside air and that the 8 that had sealed crawl had Relative Humidity levels that stayed under 60%. That means the sealed crawls had moisture levels consistent to what your 1st floor relative humidity levels are.
- Why is this important?
Keeping your crawl dry and cool and a light airflow stops mold and keeps your floors at a perfect humidity, so they last indefinitely
